The Cybersecurity Boot Camp will produce highly qualified
specialists to meet the needs of a growing San Antonio cybersecurity
market.

has developed a Cybersecurity Boot Camp program for the Open Cloud
Academy (OCA) to meet the specific needs of Cyber City USA employers.
This curriculum expands upon a student’s current network security
experience and prepares graduates to enter the cybersecurity workforce
with the certifications and practical knowledge to be successful.
The inaugural class, is a cohort style program that has been offered
to 15 San Antonio area Military Veterans who received full scholarships
through Project QUEST. “This is a great opportunity for us to continue
our work of helping highly-skilled Veterans transition from Military
Service by expanding their skills and preparing them to work in a very
demanding field that has immediate employment opportunities with both
private and public sector employers in the local area”, said Jack Coley,

Coley and OCA worked together with cybersecurity experts from several
local companies, including Rackspace and USAA, to select, organize and
customize a series of cybersecurity courses to create a coherent boot
camp style curriculum that will allow candidates to demonstrate that
they have the knowledge and skills to successfully take on an entry
level cybersecurity position. This curriculum includes Security+ and
CISSP certification exams along with topics such as Network Security
Administration, Securing Wireless Networks and Ethical Hacking &
Penetration Testing.
