(San Antonio, TX – May 27, 2015) –The Department of Veterans Affairs
(VA) Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) has awarded a contract to
Coley to provide Information Technology training through an accelerated
learning program to Veterans and service members.
The VA, in alignment with the White House’s Skills and Demand-Driven
Training Initiative has identified accelerated learning programs (ALP)
as an effective alternative to traditional learning methods for
assisting Veterans and Servicemembers transitioning from the military
with learning new skills and quickly finding employment in the
information technology (IT) landscape.
With this contract award, the VA has taken initiative to dramatically
accelerate the employment and earning power of Veterans and
transitioning Servicemembers. Coley and its partner, Codeup, will
provide a Bootcamp-style accelerated learning program that has a
successful track record of placing 94% of graduates; including many who
started the program with no background or experience in software
development or engineering IT career fields. The Codeup classroom
Bootcamp focuses on software development skills that are in
high-demand.
